Rob Stanfield: Bass

Rob Stanfield hails from Chicago, the northern end of the national delta blues highway. He is very blues based in his roots, but he really prefers to be thought of as a rock bass player. He began playing guitar as a youngster & by the time he was 13, he moved to bass guitar and has stayed there ever since. He says "I was like 14 and my older brother took me to see The Paul Butterfield Blues band, and that was it." At 17 he became a full time professional player and has pretty much stayed there throughout the years.

From the early 70's through the late 90's he's played with musicians and bands throughout the country, most notably on the west coast. He has worked on projects and collaborated with people such as Glen Cornick, Dewey Martin, Gary Puckett, and Randy California just to name a few. He was also a founding member of the now infamous Hollywood band Mike Wong & the Madames. He moved to Dover DE in 1992 and has settled here ever since.

He says "The current project with Todd (Stonesifer), Brian, and Bob is one of the most promising projects I've ever been involved in. The door is wide open for me to do whatever I want on the bass within the basic structured patterns of the songs. I've been looking for the ability to create bass lines of my own for songs that are this well written for a long time. This is a very good band."
